Take my hand, and lead me, I pray. I don't know where the next step will take me, and I cannot see which way the path turns ahead...but You can. You are already holding tomorrow. So hold me, too.
I am always with You. You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward You will take me to glory. You are the One who directs my steps as I commit my way to You. You will uphold me. You will keep me from stumbling. And though I fall seven times, You allow me to rise again.
Though fear would cause me to back up from following You, faith urges me to follow Your footprints. I don't know where we are going, but I know that I have to go with You. You said to take up my cross and follow You, so if this path leads to Calvary...let me be crucified with You. Not my will, but Yours be done.
You gave me the ability to choose my steps. I choose to let You choose. Apart from You I will walk in the wrong direction and at the wrong pace. I desperately need You. I am nothing without You, so lead me, Lord.
Entreat me not to leave You, or to turn back from following You. Don't let me turn around and walk away from Your path. When it gets hard, please hold my hand even tighter. You said You would never leave me nor forsake me. I want to be able to say the same to You.
Lead me. Guide me. Hold me. Walk with me.
I cannot live without You living with me.
In Jesus' Name. Amen.
