I mentioned yesterday of the time with the girls of the youth recently. During the time with them I shared something that I had felt the Lord impress upon me to share...of a personal season of battle. It hit me as I spoke that I almost neglected to talk of the victory the Lord brought about at that time. That should have been one of the main points!
How often do we dwell on the immediate fight, the intense warfare with the enemy, and then forget to give God glory when the W is in our hindsight? How often do we face the storm and struggle with a mindset that it is never going to end, rather than clinging to the fact that our God is bigger than the one fighting us? He has victory in store for the upright...let's win!
I also mentioned yesterday of the attack I have been facing - last week prior to retreat and then again this week in the aftermath of that time devoted to the Lord. Thankfully the Lord stirred in me in the midst of the battle that He brings about victory. When I would resign to just rolling with the punches, His desire is victory. We don't have to lose and walk around hanging our heads in defeat. We don't have to fixate on the strategy of the enemy, making sure we let all know that he is coming at us today. We can actually fixate on the Word of the Lord, making sure we let Satan know that we are coming in Jesus' Name...and we mean to come out on top this time.
Miriam danced on the other side of the Red Sea. Psalmists wrote songs of victory in praise to the Lord. Jehoshaphat sent out the praisers ahead of the battle for a little pre-victory worship unto the Lord. I dare you to praise before the win. I challenge you to lift up your voice and lift up your hands in worship rather than in surrender to the enemy. I urge you to remember who you serve.
You don't have to be defeated. Let's trust the Lord for victory. Sure, the battle may be too much for me, but greater is He who is within me than the one who would come against me.
Father, I choose to shout with a voice of triumph, for You are with me as a mighty Warrior. You are faithful, and I know You cannot fail. Let's win Your way. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
