It's Up to You

A certain concept from an AP class I took in high school has been rolling around in my heart for the past several days. Which answer is more right? So, the tests had multiple choice sections, and there were not obvious right answers to the questions. There were two right answers, and the point was to choose the one that was "more right". I mean, come on, that's just wrong.

You will have a variety of choices to make in life. Some small and seemingly meaningless...and then some life-changing. You will find that there is often more than one right answer, which can make it really tough to know what to do at times. What do you do? How do you know which way is more right?

"Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established." Proverbs 4:26

One translation of this verse states to "Make level paths for your feet." Apparently there is something to gaining wisdom before stepping forward in a certain direction. Both paths can look right. Door number one may have a great prize waiting behind it, but then door number two is concealing the perfect one for you.

Decisions, decisions. There could be a path that is good, but it's not God. I think of a time a few years ago that I was offered a job that would have more than doubled my salary. I wanted it to be the right path so badly!! But the more I prayed and asked the Lord, the less peace I had about it. The path became less level in my spirit, and I had to choose to stay where I was. I don't know what the outcome of that path would have been, but I have to trust that I obeyed the Lord...and that He knows where I would have landed.

I challenge you to look at the options you are offered and then lay them before the Lord. If He delights in Your way, He will make your steps firm. Just think...when it is Jesus bidding you forward, even the waves become a level path.

Father, I want to always choose Your will for my life, not just what seems good at the time. You see the big picture and know where each road leads. I choose to follow You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
