In Every Season
The Lord is doing a new thing. Do you not perceive it? He may have split the sea in the past, but now He is turning the dry ground into springs of water. He may have allowed you to walk through the impossible, but now He is birthing the impossible within you and through you.
You may have been planted in a desert, and you are wondering, "Why in the world would God put me in such a dry place?" Have you ever thought that perhaps He is preparing you to be a vessel for the river that would quench the thirst of those who dwell there?
You may have been planted in the darkness, and you are wondering, "What is the point of this, when I can't see God doing anything in my life right now?" I dare you to press on and find that the Light within you shines the brightest when the darkness threatens to overwhelm.
Whatever season you find yourself in, I encourage you to find the hope that is hidden there. If you are enduring a season of loneliness, perhaps He is creating you to become a friend to the friendless. If you are enduring a season of storms, perhaps He is training you to display His peace to those tossed by the waves of life.
The God of all comfort wraps us in His arms in our toughest trials. We can then in turn pour that same comfort on those enduring trials of their own. Don't wish away the cloud you find yourself under...break up the unplowed ground in your heart and open yourself up to the rain.
I encourage you to find the wisdom that each season offers you. It is only through the
breaking out of the darkness of the cocoon that the butterfly gains the strength to fly.
Father, thank You for EVERY season that You have allowed me to endure. I pray that I will learn to not try to hurry through them in the future, but that I will realize that You have a purpose for all of them. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
