These two words have been on my heart this morning in relation to what to share today. I confess that it convicts me more than somewhat as I ponder what the Lord may be dealing with in me using these words.
How powerful a player is your routine in your life? Do you have a specific way of going about things...to the point that if something gets a little off track, you get way off track? We tend to live in a comfort zone, a well-worn path of everyday travel, that keeps us going the "right" direction. How do I know this? Watch how you respond when something cuts you off on that "path" and you have to adjust.
There were some fishermen who were going about their business until one day a Man interrupted their daily lives. He stepped in and changed things, and their lives were never the same. They didn't choose to cling to what was comfortable. They didn't stay in the safety net of familiarity. No - they embraced the inconvenience of leaving it all behind to follow Him.
I feel challenged to recognize those moments that I would typically see as an inconvenience today and to choose to embrace what God would do through it. I want to face the "interruptions" He lovingly offers with an attitude that pleases Him - knowing that everything He does is on purpose.
May the Lord wreck our routines today and lead us in the path of truly following Him.
Father, I don't want to see Your plan as an inconvenience. I don't want to view the hurting people You place in my path as interruptions to my schedule. Open my eyes and my heart to Your way. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
