Have you ever felt unqualified for what the Lord has placed in your heart to do? Do you look at others and feel that there is no way you will ever match up in the gifts and talents department? Have you ever seen yourself as a "not"?
One of the most beautiful things about our God to me is that He doesn't treat His people like it's a beauty pageant or a popularity contest. The fact is that according to the Word, He does quite the opposite:
"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty, and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence."
I daresay that if you feel weak, foolish and insignificant...you are in His sights as being one He can use the most. You may feel like the greatest misfit at work, in school and in your family because of your weaknesses. Take heart; it is for this very reason that you are able to give Him so much glory!
I challenge you to offer yourself as a "not" and watch Him fulfill His purpose in you to bring to nothing the things that are. I encourage you to rejoice in your weaknesses and watch Him put to shame the things which are mighty around you.
Only God can take what we don't have to show what He does. Only God can take who we are not to show more fully who He is.
Father, You choose the weak, the foolish and the things that are not to show the world how great You are. Here is all that I am, Lord, and all that I am not. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
