It isn't a fairytale that the enemy walks about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. It isn't folklore that the thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. It is truth from the Word of God that the prince of the power of the air deceives and leads astray those who believe his lies. I urge you to know the Truth...and expose and silence the enemy.
I am a visual learner, and I believe the Lord has used certain movie scenes at times to show me something. What is going through my mind right now concerning this subject is the musical Phantom of the Opera. Christine had been spoken to and trained by one she couldn't see, one whom she thought to be the "Angel of Music." She was charmed and deceived, completely unaware of the phantom's purpose to enslave her. She had been lured in by deceitful means; when she realized the truth behind her foe, she was already tightly in his grip.
"I gave you my mind blindly." Her recognition that she had opened her mind to this enemy and allowed him free reign didn't come until the end of the movie. Don't wait till the end to figure out the lies that you have taken to be truth. Don't wait until the chains are tightly holding you before you recognize that they are even there. Choose this day to silence the foe. How?
The way to expose the lies of the enemy is to know the Truth of the Word of God. We cannot read His Word enough. But it isn't just about reading it- we must live it, and we must obey it. Satan knows the Word, too, and will dare to use it against us.
I urge you, please do not believe the liar. Guard your mind, guard your heart...and guard your households. Rise up, child of God, and rip off the mask of the deceiver. Walk in the light, and what would hide in darkness will be exposed. Jesus came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. I choose to believe Him.
Father, You are so faithful. You did not leave us unprotected, but You gave us Your Word and Your Spirit. You go before us, and You are our rear guard. I choose to hide Your Word in my heart and hide my heart in Your Word. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
