It's All Good

There are times when people ask how you are doing, and you want to be to the point of sharing how your aches and pains slap you in the face every time you wake up in the morning. You don't want to sound like you are complaining, but you don't want to lie either. If you're like me, you end the conversation with, "But it's all good."

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

All things. The good, the bad, the ugly, and the downright horrible. He works in all things for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. You may think that you aren't called, so this doesn't apply to you. The way I read it is that if you love Him, you are called. Do you love Him?

If you can answer that you love the Lord, then you can truly say to those who ask how you are doing, "It's all good." Not that all circumstances are good, because they aren't. Not that all people in your life are good, because they aren't. Not that your own choices are always good, because they aren't. But if you love Him and trust Him with the "all things" of your life, then it's all good.

I am convinced that the Lord can weave together a gorgeous tapestry out of the mess I give Him, but the mess that I choose to deal with in my own ability ends up looking like scraps that are meant for the burn pile. I cannot work things out for good, despite how much I may try with good intentions. I don't see the big picture, the desired end result...but He does.

I challenge you to allow Him to piece together the broken pieces and the smooth ones. Allow Him to take over putting the puzzle of your life together. He can see how the pieces fit...and it's all good.

Father, I know that You are good and that Your ways are perfect. I choose to trust You with all things of my life. I choose to believe and know that You work everything out for my good. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
