Burdened

April 3, 2018

To be completely honest, I write bearing a heavy heart today.  It is easier to say to another to cast your burdens on the Lord when you are not the one bearing the weight.  So I say to myself and to all who carry something too heavy to bear:

Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.  Cast your cares on the Lord, and when you feel the weight build up again…cast them again.

It is true that you don’t have enough strength in your own ability to handle everything—He does.  It is true that you have a tendency to cave under the weight of what you carry—He won’t.

Don’t try to press down what concerns you, but allow Him to perfect it.  Don’t try to push back tears if that is what He wants to use to bring healing.  Give it all to Him.

Allow your burdens to bring you closer to Him.  Feel Him draw near to your broken heart, and be thankful even for this.  Even a burden can become beautiful as it is placed at His feet.

In your weakness, He is strong.  He wants to be strong for you today…just let Him.

Father, I choose to trust You with what concerns me and my loved ones.  I choose to lay ALL things at Your feet, and give thanks as You have said.  You are still faithful.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen
