Should circumstances dictate my relationship with the Lord? Should we allow storms to shake our resolve that seems so sturdy when we are on calm waters? Should life’s happenings sift out all good intentions and knock us back into the land of default habits? No.
Though we may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we don’t have to fear evil. Though we may sail through the storms of life, we don’t have to fear the waves crashing in on us. He is with us.
He is with you. He is with me. This may seem simple, but this is all some may need to hear. You are not alone. The shadows may produce an indescribable fear. Don’t be afraid; He is there. The uncertainty may produce an overwhelming anxiety. Be anxious for nothing; He is there. The storm may seem to be raging with no end in sight. Don’t give up; He is there.
Hold on a little longer, and find strength in the waiting. Though you may not feel Him, He has never left your side.
Lord, when it is darkest, it is sometimes hard to hold onto the light. When it is stormy, it is sometimes hard to hold onto peace. Help us to remember that You don’t leave us or forsake us. That You are the Light and Peace that we need. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
