Spending time in the Presence of the Lord reveals more than His heart…it reveals yours. You are sitting before the Great Physician, and soon you are shown what is in need of healing. You have the option to walk away from the moment with the mindset of staying the same and hoping to just be able to keep feeling Him comfort you. Or you can choose to allow Him to bring healing.
It amazes me how each leg of the journey affords me the opportunity to know His healing. Simultaneously, I have to experience the pain of diagnosis. I would rather sit in His arms and just be saturated with the knowledge that He is amazing and that I am His. Of course, He knows that for me to come any closer there are things that need taken care of—there are wounds that didn’t heal correctly, and there are issues that stem from them.
Perhaps the bleeding was stopped, but internal damage was done. Perhaps a bandage was applied, but surgery was needed. I don’t believe that the Lord wants us to use our past as a crutch or an excuse, but I do feel that He wants to heal what has been broken. Oftentimes, I haven’t realized what didn’t heal correctly without Him allowing me to re-live the pain. Sure, it is excruciating…but infection needs flushed out from the root.
There have been instances over the years when it has been made clear that I had not grieved something adequately. I had dared to move on toughly, making sure that on the outside I was a big girl…yet not realizing that all the while the pieces of my heart were not going back together properly. I had not allowed Him to carry me through the process of complete healing.
When you feel Him pressing on a tender spot, or when you sense Him approaching an area of your heart that you would rather keep locked up—let Him do what only He can do. I urge you to put the pieces in His hands. Nothing is beyond His ability to repair.
Father, thank You for showing me what is still broken, and thank You for being the Healer who sticks with me through the fixing. You are faithful beyond my ability to have faith. I place all that I am and all that I have been in Your hands. Heal me, and I will be healed. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
