In and Not Of
Lot was rescued from the midst of depravity. Noah was rescued from a world that had turned its back on God. Joseph remained righteous throughout his “journey” in Egypt. Daniel was highly esteemed and remained a man of integrity throughout the years he spent in Babylon and Persia.
We can truly be in the world and not of it. We can actually live apart from the wickedness that surrounds us daily. It is possible to walk uprightly in a world that travels downhill.
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
Daily walking in the shadow of the Almighty God, living under His covering, allows for a life that doesn’t have to be tainted by society. A life that doesn’t have to cave in to pressure to live how you feel, to follow the crowd, to fall into sin.
Whether or not you choose to remain under the Lord’s shadow determines whether or not you choose to blend in with the world. He is able to cover you and keep you from falling. Is that what you want?
The shadow of His wings gives us a place to hide in His righteousness…I dare you to stay covered.
Lord, there may be times when I want to just run away to a quiet place to get away from the world for a moment. Thank You that You are my quiet place that I can live in while still in the middle of daily life. Surround me with Your songs of deliverance, I pray. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
