Crossing the Jordan
I look ahead of me, and I see Your Presence leading the way. Uncertain, yet confident knowing You are there, I step forward. What should be flooding and sweeping me away amazingly stops and allows me passage. I know that only You could have paved the way like this.
On the other side of this road, this river, is a land on which I have never stepped foot. I look back as I break through to the other side—Your Presence stands faithfully as my rear guard. You hem me in, behind and before…please never stop.
There may no longer be manna in this new land, but I desire to receive all that You have promised. I desire to never limit all that You long to do in my life, for the sake of displaying Your glory. I may deserve the wilderness, but You have promised blessing. I may deserve Egypt, but You have promised freedom.
There is purpose attached to Your favor; teach me Your ways that I may know You and continue in that favor. Please do not allow me to step out of the Jordan with a disobedient heart.
I choose to enter this new season clinging tightly to Your hand. I choose to face each giant with You going before me into battle. I choose to believe that Your promise is worth fighting for, and that it is nothing without You.
O Lord, You are the One who makes all things new. Thank You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
