Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved watching people dance. To me it is beauty and grace wrapped up in synchronized steps and fluid motion. But when there are two connected in a dance, someone has to take the lead.
I am enamored with the fact that I have an unseen dance Partner. Even when I feel like I am taking a step on my own, He is ordering and establishing it. When it seems that I am spinning, trying my best to gain control…He is there holding my hand the entire time. And when I feel my feet getting tripped up, His arms are waiting to catch me.
I remember a few years ago feeling the Lord connect a couple of Scriptures for me in such a cool way that it is fresh on my heart today. Place the story of Peter stepping on the water in the forefront of your mind as you read this:
“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”
I feel in my heart that the Lord made Peter’s steps firm on what should have been anything but firm because He was delighted with his faith. When is the last time you stepped out of the boat? May this day offer evidence of His Presence guiding you and ordering your steps. I pray that you hear the Lord say, “Come,” and that you obey.
Life is a dance…let’s let Him take the lead.
Lord, when You asked me to dance, I gave You the reins of my heart. I know that You will lead me in Your perfect will as long as I hold onto Your hand. Please keep guiding me and holding me through whatever life presents. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
