“What is His name, and what is the name of His Son? Surely you know!”
I cannot even begin to wrap my mind around the greatness of the Name of the Lord. There is not enough time in the day, and not enough paper in the world, to describe it.
The verse above jumped in my heart this morning, and I am so thankful. When I read what Agur was saying, I see his desperate hunger to KNOW the One who is God. To KNOW the One who created heaven and earth. Who is He?! What is His Name? What is the Name of His Son?
Are we desperate to know Him like that? Or are we content calling on a God that we know from afar? There are different Names that portray His character and nature in the Word. He is the Lord our Provider, Healer, Peace, etc. Do you know Him as these, or do you call on Him in this way from an unfamiliar distance?
No matter the greatness of our learning, no matter how many levels of knowledge we attain—there is still an infinite amount of “we have no clue.” He is an amazing, omnipotent, awesome, glorious and majestic God who will always surpass our realm of understanding.
What is His Name? What is the Name of His Son? Surely you know!
When the world asks me this question, may the answer be bursting from my heart…not just my mouth.
Scripture to read:
Father, I long to know You more and more, and so I thank You that You give me and eternity to do so. I hide myself in the Name of Your Son as I come to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
