“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
I know there are some who don’t put too much stock in dreams. Depending on the situation, and on the dream, I can be one of them. After all, the Lord said that if one has a dream, let him tell his dream. But let the one who has His Word speak it faithfully. In a nutshell, not all dreams are from Him. But some are.
You can ask Joseph, Nebuchadnezzar, and Pharaoh…sometimes the Lord uses dreams to relay a message in a visual way. For all of us visual learners, that is a huge blessing. We may not always listen well enough to remember what He says, but we will not forget an image.
There are dreams that I know came from Him, and they are written in journals so that, Lord willing, one day I will know what they meant. One such dream happened recently, and in effort to dodge any skeptical criticism, I will only proclaim the Word that was displayed through it.
In essence, the enemy let me know that he would never stop, that he would never leave me alone. I proceeded to let him know that I would never stop resisting him. In an instant, he vanished. But in the last moment, right before I awoke, he was right there again.
If we ever dare to think that we need only to defeat the enemy one time, we are in for a rude awakening. Find out in your own situation what resisting the devil looks like, and do it. And keep doing it. I love to arm wrestle; I love seeing how long I can resist, how long I can outlast an opponent. Spiritual warfare is wrestling—it is outlasting, being more persistent that Satan.
The enemy exposes himself in the Word as constantly going “back and forth”. We are not unaware of his schemes! Don’t get complacent! Your foe may go away for a season, but he will come back…so beat him again.
Scripture to read:

Father, I am not afraid of the war we must wage spiritually. But I am conscious of the fact that I sometimes get tired of fighting. Don’t ever let me stop. Give me Your energy along with Your armor. You never lose. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
