As you begin reading this, I dare you to take hold of a cup, and dip it into the pages of the Word of God with me…and drink deeply.
No words could ever compare to those He has already written. May these few simply serve to whet your appetite for a beautiful journey of digging deeper and drawing nearer to taste and see that He is indeed good.
There are those who are satisfied with being served an occasional drink from the well. Others are satisfied with drawing from the well to serve that occasional drink.
Forgive me, but I do not want to merely draw from the well of living water. I want to be a well—filled with His Word, prepared and ready to minister to the thirsty.
*“…the water that I shall give him shall become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." -Jesus to the woman at the well (John 4:14)
*“Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come buy and eat.” (Isaiah 55:1a)
I dare you to join me…how thirsty are you?
Scripture to read:
Song of Solomon 4:12,15
Father, stir within us a thirst for Your Word, Your Presence, Your Spirit. Don’t let us seek satisfaction with temporal things. Your Words are Spirit and they are life, so may our hunger to be filled grow more each day. We hide in the Name of Jesus as we fall at Your feet in prayer. Amen.
